Contemporary Design Market
Meet and buy Belgian contemporary design
Since 2019, during its September edition, the Brussels Design Market is proud to dedicate a space exclusively to contemporary design. A unique opportunity to discover designers, meet up-and-coming talents and, of course, buy authentic Belgian design pieces.
The Contemporary Design Market is the exclusive place to discover and buy Belgian design and to meet the designers of our territory. Carefully selected by a committee of design experts, the designers will present their latest creations on the weekend of 25 and 26 September 2021, at the Maritime Station, on the Tour & Taxis site, next to the Brussels Design Market exhibitors.
Contemporary Design Market is part of the Design September programme and is an initiative of Flanders DC, Brussels Design September and Wallonie Design.
Guest of honour —
Muller Van Severen
This year, the Belgian duo Muller Van Severen will take centre stage as the guest of honour at the 2021 edition of the Contemporary Design Market! The couple, known for their minimalist furniture with rational lines and bold colours, will be exhibiting a preview of their retrospective, which on the occasion of their tenth anniversary will be on show from 9 October at the Design Museum in Ghent.
Young guest of honour —
The designer and resident of Ateliers Zaventem, Roxane Lahidji, will be presenting her productions based on sustainability and the use of natural resources at a lower cost at this third edition. Her innovative approach, representative of current ecological concerns and issues, has already received international recognition through prestigious awards.
Young guest of honour —
The designer Pierre-Emmanuel, who shares the same quarters as Roxane at the Ateliers Zaventem, will be at their side as the young guest of honour of this new edition! This is an opportunity to discover or rediscover his minimalist, vigorous and sensitive creations that question new uses. Since his debut, Pierre-Emmanuel has been invited every year to exhibit in cities such as Copenhagen, Paris and Milan.
