150 vintage dealers & 40 contemporary designers
Since its creation, Brussels Design Market has evolved into the largest design market in Europe. It has now become an essential part of the international vintage design calendar, inviting to discover enlightened and passionate exhibitors, promoting 20th century design with their high quality selections. Scandinavian, Italian or American, from Corbusier to Jacobsen via Bertoia, the Brussels Design Market offers a wide range of choices to match the diversity of tastes and interiors.
Arriving from all over Europe, the dealers display an eclectic collection, bringing together multiple styles and trends that have impacted the 20th century. Alongside these icons, the Brussels Design Market also offers anonymous and exclusive design pieces at affordable prices.
In synergy with the Market, FOR THE NOW will reveal, for its fifth edition, a curation of established and emerging designers in Belgium.
Formerly known as the Contemporary Design Market, this exclusive design exhibition platform will present the public with a reflection on all forms of contemporary design, highlighting different angles and cultural contexts, styles, colours and visual languages.
FOR THE NOW aims to represent the reality of the present and reflect the diversity of our society through design, celebrating creativity and cosmopolitanism. The event aims to contribute to a more inclusive design world, where cultural histories come together to create a new shared visual language. In this sense, it encourages and promotes the exchange between designers, cultures, visual languages and frames of reference.
Carefully selected by a committee of experts, the designers will unveil their latest creations as part of the Brussels Design September Festival, in collaboration with Flanders DC.
During this event, the prize of Designer of the Year, an initiative of Le Vif Weekend and Knack Weekend magazines, will be announced. This award was first given in 2006 to highlight Belgian design talent. The list of winners includes names such as Vincent Van Duysen, Muller Van Severen, Sep Verboom, Nedda El-Asmar and Sylvain Willenz.
